Pay Equity Update
I'm sure you will have seen news in the papers, but what you need to know at this stage is that the Bill is now before parliament and waiting to be voted to a Select Committee. Unfortunately the Bill is very similar to the Draft I submitted comments to MBIE on and I believe very unfriendly to small businesses.
However I have been told that the government is going to provide a suite of resources that should make it easier for both employees and employers to manage situations that could show a pay disadvantage on the grounds of gender
So I strongly advise you to ignore the hype on this in the political arena at this time, and concentrate simply on being fair to all! I will keep you informed.
