Minimum Wage Increases

Please be aware that the minimum wage increases on 1 April to $14.75 per hour (an increase of 3.5%).  A similar increase in the minimum starting out wage - to $11.80 per hour also takes effect then.

Clearly the government are saying this has been determined as having the minimal amount of impact on jobs, but with inflation running at only 1%, this will nonetheless provide an upward pressure on positions paid only just over the minimum wage.  You will find it necessary to give increases that range from  3.5% down to 1% in those lower paid positions, if you are to maintain some relativity, and will need to budget for it.
